A nice looking beer, dark yellow, with a haze so thick that it is almost orange and one finger of foam that had poor retention. Aromas are a peculiar mix, strong fermented pineapple, a mix of sweet and sour citrus and lots of sweet bready notes. Mouthfeel is warm and touching on heavy, with a mild foaminess and moderate carbonation. Taste is the same pineapple, and sweet mango. There is citrus but it is much more muted and the bready notes are replaced by an oaty creaminess. Another solid beer from Lineman.

Can pour was vibrant with lots of foam with each wave of stout. Body is jet black with two fingers of late coloured soft foam. Scent is a little off, upfront ashen cinder, with only slight espresso and a strange smokey finish. Feeling in the mouth is thin and and flat, the foam had completely dissipated and despite the trace bubbles on top, the stout has gone completely flat. To boot, the body is very thin and edging close to being outright watery. Taste is an improvement on the scent, espresso comes to the fore and deep roasted taste lingers deep into the aftertaste. There is a subtle sweetness but nothing to explicitly identify it as the advertised chocolate. More likely from the oatmeal. It's like drinking a cold Americano with alcohol. Fine on one hand but not what I was looking for. It's not like Lineman to put out a bad beer.

The pour was nice and weighty, without much carbonation. The body was deep red, resembling a ripa, with one finger of light brown head. Scent is pleasent pine aroma on the backbone of deep biscuit malt. Mouthfeel is very full, but not heavy, this has all the depth of an imperial but there is no real alcohol burn, which is very deceptive. Taste is unique, lots of bitter notes, not much in the way of a fruity presence, but lots of rich maltiness. Deep biscuit with a caramel sweetness. Very warming and I can't wait to have it again.

Poured very well, very full, like thick oil. Left a deep black body with trace elements of a chocolate head. Scent is deep chocolate malt, roast espresso and all held together with the punchy alcohol kick. Mouthfeel is slick but pumped up with a light carbonation. Taste starts with the ABV kick but it is quickly pushed aside for the deep roast malts. Bitter chocolate fades to make way for dry, roasted coffee leaving a bitter, dryness in your mouth at the end. A very nice imperial stout.

A great pour that was so black and thick that it was like crude oil. Remaining body had trace elements of a chocolate coloured head and slight carbonation in the glass. Scent is bountiful chocolate on a backbone of deep roasted malts, slight coffee finish mingling with the bourbon as it hits the back of your nose. Mouthfeel is thinner than expected but still very imposing. Taste is a beautiful collision of smooth chocolate and intensity of the whiskey burn. The aftertaste is largely roasted coffee, very dry, very excellent. This is a great barrell aged stout and is available year round.
