Found this at the local state line store. I enjoy a good Marzen Oktoberfest Brew. Modest head did not last. Attractive copper color. Has a very slight Haze to it, which is unexpected. Aroma gives both the desired Amber and the distinctive marzen. Very soft body. It's a little sweeter than I would prefer. The Amber flavor has a slight nutty trait, lemon in the background, it's effervescence is lingering. The finish adds a mild earthiness with a pinch of bitterness. I would have preferred the flavor to have a little more punch to it but overall it's a very drinkable beer. Not outstanding but definitely good for tonight's bowl of chili.

This is the 8th beer I took to Texas to share. How can you not buy a beer called Redneck Christmas Stout? From Georgia of course. Not sure about the beer, but the can gets a 5.0. Very short disappearing head. Not as deep or opaque in color as most Imperial stouts. Aroma is roasted malt and sweet mint. Texture is light and crisp. Flavor begins with a deep roasted coffee, a bittersweet tart note in the background. Totally dominates until the finish brings a mint characteristic. Not peppermint, the kind of mint you pick from the garden. Then a powdery cocoa appears with a good dose of hop bitterness. This beer sounded great but it just didn't work. The coffee was too bitter and dominating, the peppermint was more like just mint. And the chocolate I would expect from an imperial stout was more of a raw cocoa powder. The flavors didn't blend, they seem to fight each other. Best to pass on this Christmas brew.

Very small to almost no head. Tangerine aroma. Very hazy but no particulates. A tangerine citrus with an abundance of coriander. Definitely wheat in the background. Soft and gentle texture makes this easy to drink. Same flavor flows through the finish and turns just a little dry. Good beer to have with a sandwich, which is what I'm doing.
