Signature Brew
London, England

With the possible exception of football stadiums, music venues offer the worst beer imaginable: the sort of warm industrial lager you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy. This is where Signature come in. Sam McGregor, David Riley and Tom Bott (who has family links to Stoke's Titanic brewery) work with musicians to produce beers - very good beers, actually - to be sold at gigs and elsewhere. It sounds like a gimmick but McGregor is insistent that the musicians involved get properly involved in recipe formulation. If that doesn’t float your boat, they also have an excellent line-up of beers in which no musician has been involved, like their session IPA, Roadie.

A clean yet crisp Italian-style pilsner with a zesty subtle hint of citrus with a sharp malt flavouring with a refreshing bitterness and hints of citrus.

The barrel aged version of one I drank a few weeks ago. The chocolate and caramel are subdued and replaced with an oaky boozy warming goodness. Really enjoyed this!

Nice easy drinking imperial stout. Chocolate and caramel stand out with hints of coffee in the background. Plenty of body, without being too thick, just right. Midweek sipper
