Vähän sellasta raskaampaa juotavaa. Ja prosenttejakin kivat ~15 🙄
Kai tälle on pakko nelonen antaa vaikken ihan täysin alkanutkaan fanittaa.

Bottled 2018.08.04. Dark chocolate, vanilla. Nicely warm in mouth and throat. Boozy in aroma. Low to medium body.

Ryan and I pulled out this very nice 2023 Bourbon County Stout for today. My Crimson Tide won last night against Oklahoma after being way behind. His Texas A&M Aggies are battling Miami and it's halftime tied at 0-0. This demanded a special beer and Bourbon County never lets us down.
Taking the cap off the bottle reveals exactly what I want. Strong flavor, oak barrel Bourbon, chocolate and raisin. Not much head, expected more but that's okay. Aroma from the glass, wow, excellent. First sip reveals a strong flavor, creamy, a little heavy, soft and full of flavor. Immediately reveals sweetness, bourbon with this oak quality, dark chocolate and some stringent berries. As it moves toward the finish the berries become much more prominent and the chocolate and other flavors move to the background. I have to mention that as I take my time evaluating these flavors that all of it travels up the nasal cavity expanding the experience. From my travels to Montana a few years ago I do recognize the Boysenberries but I'm not familiar with Marionberries. If you're not familiar, it's close to a raspberry...... but different. As I enjoy each sip, the aroma coming from the glass is exhilarating and not receding. The flavors are strong but not overpowering, it's mellow with an almost arrogant confidence of what it is.
As I watch the ball game, I waited a couple of minutes between sips. Surprisingly the strong Boysenberry's flavor slightly receded and a dark dry cocoa, which I think was always there, revealed itself. What a surprise.
At the very first I knew this was an excellent beer, probably a 4.8. But as it warmed, and the flavors expanded and developed, I fell in love with this. You just don't get that Boysenberry flavor very often, it's such a regional flavor to the northwest of the US. But my familiarity with it really pushed it over the top. As it warms it's just getting better. I'm going to give it what it deserves, a 5.0. So sad this 2023 is gone.
Now for the business at hand, come on Texas A& M, Gig'm Aggies!!!

On kyllä mukavan siirappinen. Yli käyneitä hedelmiä ja kunnon rusinaisuutta. Ei jaksa enää hifistellä.
