Very sad. 6 Wards Brewing in Texas is closing their doors. Came to lend support, have a few beers and spend a little money with them. Medium high tan head. Thin soft texture, very little effervescence, almost flat. Raspberry comes first, ripe and tart. Mild breath of coffee in the background. Glides effortlessly into a finish bringing with it a touch of Nestles chocolate hiding behind the raspberries. Interesting beer. Sad to see it disappearing.

At 6 Wards Brewery in Houston with my son-in-law. Interesting nitro version of a raspberry milk stout. Dark brown totally opaque color. Very thick and creamy nitro head on this beer. Expected creaminess, both delicate and smooth. Raspberry and milk chocolate flavor is gentle and subdued. No bitterness leading to the finish. Chocolate dominates with a small amount of rustic bark.

At 6 Wards Brewery with my son-in-law. A lot of beers in Texas to try. Deep black opaque color. Strong aroma of coconut and alcohol. Very dry texture but still creamy from the nitro. Strong roasted coconut, alcohol apparent right behind. The warming of the nitro beer gives it a bourbon barrel quality, even though that's not the way it was aged. Finish is soft and turns a little on the rustic sour side during the finish. An acceptable Porter. Was hoping for more.

Visiting 6 Wards Brewing Company with my son-in-law trying out some more small brewery beers. Color is a deep copper amber. Clear. Could have used a little more intensity of flavor. Has earthy malt qualities. Brief salty notes of sour dough bread. Finish brings dryness along with a touch of toast

Another Texas brewery with my son-in-law. 6 Wards Brewing is small and interesting. Deep yellow color, very hazy. Effervescence continues even after a couple of minutes of sitting. Very soft texture, actually seems creamy. Not much of the Marsen. More of a creamy golden ale. Moves into the finish almost without noticing. Flavor suddenly disappears and demands another sip. If an Oktoberfest is supposed to be very drinkable, then this is it.
