Saudi "olut". Tässä on kyllä yritystä, mutta mukana edelleen vähän outo sivumaku.

My last Moussy 🇸🇦 at least for the time being. Translucent, deep gold beer with seriously laidback carbonation manages to put a thin chain of small bubbles on the surface while at the same time portraying the beer spritzy. Soon the top is still with no indication of carbonation left. Sweet apple juice lingers into the nostrils. I fail to identify any other nuances, it's that simple. The taste package contains carbonated medium-sweet apple juice, a bit of citric acid and an illusion of green grape. The thin-bodied beer finishes with an unaltered cocktail that carries over from upfront. The duration of the aftertaste could be described medium. The mouthfeel is massively juicy, sparkling and thin. It's also gardeny and Mediterranean, slightly lip-glueing and interestingly also distantly tart.

Bright, redcurrant-juice-tinted beer with impotent, rushed carbonation sets a truly meager lacing that vanishes right away. The nose gets sweet raspberry candy "Hallonbåtar". The palate continues exactly identical with sweet raspberry juice and a tad raspberry-flavored winegum. The thin-bodied beer ends with the same raspberry juice again. The aftertaste feeds raspberry to the tastebuds over medium duration. The mouthfeel is thin, juicy, relatively soft-drink-like, summery and gardeny. It's also lip-glueing and distantly sappy. Not a winner, not bad either.

My meal of grilled squid at a Philippine restaurant today went down with ice tea. Not even a nonalcoholic beer was available. I'm taking the beer now. Limpid, honey-hued beer with shy, short-lived carbonation tries to lay a subtle, white head. The head melts quickly away to flat still. The olfactory provision includes distinct peach and a suggestion of nectarine. The taste receptors shiver a bit due to the sweet palate that hits them. I pick a decent injection of peach, a pinch of nectarine and faint apricot. I can additionally find apple and a drop of squeezed orange pulp among the gustatory elements. The body is thin. Of course. The aftertaste serves a tad peach and nectarine to the tastebuds but disappears rushedly. The mouthfeel is thin, somewhat lip-glueing, very juicy and considerably summery. It's also tropical and effervescent. Quite nice this one, too.

My Saudi beer escapade continues with Moussy Lemon Mint. The beer colors lucid, amber. The initially fizzy but hastily settling carbonation lays a restrained, white head that falls short of half a finger's height and calms quickly down to nil. The fragrance offers powerful mint. The mint is so dominant that it overshadows the potential lemony touch which, the name suggests, should be there. Nonetheless, the tongue likes the hefty, medium-sweet lemon juice. Now the mint is oppressed and gives seriously way to the lemon. The body is thin. The beer ends with light-sweet lemon pulp and a good suggestion of mint. The aftertaste refreshes the tastebuds for a relatively brief period only. The mouthfeel is thin, very fresh, clean and soft-drink-like. It's also slightly puckering albeit simultaneously a tad lip-glueing. Very palatable though, especially for summer.

Time to continue with Saudi beers. Now Moussy Classic pours translucent, gold. The fairly lively, quick carbonation builds a one-finger, white, small-bubbled head that dissolves soon The scent is truly restrained: lame pale malt only. The taste is rather typical at a nonalcoholic beer. I get watery pale malt, a bit of bread, distant crackers and a remote whisper of sugar. Surprisingly, the taste profile is quite decent and actually rewarding for a nonalcoholic beer. The body is scanty. The beer finishes short with modest pale malt, a pinch of crackers and a bready nuance. The mouthfeel is thin, standard bulky, though substantially clean and really balanced. What is the most important, this is not sweet. Astonishingly quaffable, especially since this is from Saudi Arabia!

One for the road. These are so addictive... 😆 We can witness a bright, ruby beer with vibrant carbonation that goes quickly hiding but just before that manages to spit out a meager head of a few bubbles and an extraordinarily brief lifespan. The olfactory provision is somewhat berry-juicy although not particularly natural: pomegranate emanates distinctly in the air, accompanied by a bit of sweet cherry and a drop of squeezed purple grape. The taste portrays quite hefty fruit juice. I receive a generous dollop of pomegranate juice and a handful of ripe purple grapes. A note of sweet cherry and a suggestion of blackcurrant follow in the distance. The body is skinny. The beer ends with rather sweet pomegranate juice, some purple grapes and a hint of blackcurrant jam. The aftertaste drills the teeth over medium duration. The mouthfeel is light, very juicy and somewhat soft-drink-like. It goes without saying that this is surely unbeery. It's also medium-sappy, lip-glueing, interestingly even a bit natural and quite refreshing. Not bad at all!

A second nonalcoholic Moussy from 🇸🇦 The beer pours transparent, deep strawberry-juice-colored. The fizzy but short-lived carbonation unlocks a modest, small-bubbled head that fails to float on the surface for more than five seconds. The nose receives fruit winegum and -- if I try real hard -- silent whispers of strawberry and blackcurrant. The tongue experiences a combination of sweet blackcurrant, strawberry, apple and faint raspberry. The taste profile is relatively sappy and synthetic but not disgusting. The body is skinny. The aftertaste offers a decent amount of sweet apple, some blackcurrant juice and distant idea of strawberry. The aftertaste leaves the tastebuds ignorant for a short time. The mouthfeel is a bit sappy, somewhat lip-glueing, really soft-drink-like and sparkling.

The beer selection of UAE hasn't really convinced me, which of course is no surprise for an Islamic Persian Gulf country. However, let me change for a while to beers from another country that is an ultimate beer heaven, a real hidden gem in the hoppy world!   🇸🇦 The beer pours glowingly clear and... well, seafoam green. 🤔 Looks pretty much like diluted washing up liquid. The spritzy carbonation lasts for a short to medium time and unleashes a meager, bubbly head that dies quickly out. The fragrance is interesting. And quite strange. It's restrained and unidentifiable, tries to imitate some kind of berry mix but fails. It's more like artificial jelly. The taste is sweet and a bit lemony. Generally speaking, the palate offers a messy package of various unspecifiable synthetic fruit aromas. The label as if indicates raspberry and blackberry but there are no such berries in the list of ingredients. And no any other berries either for that matter. The thin-bodied beer finishes with the same unidentifiable artificial candy/jelly flavor. The aftertaste threatens the tastebuds with cancer for a short time. The mouthfeel is synthetic, rather thin, extremely soft-drink-like and spritzy. It's also medium-sappy and a tad lip-glueing. This is absolutely unbeery and lacks direction. I just don't know what this is.
