Comme une IPA au seigle. A la pression, c'est bien bon. Belle amertume franche avec des saveurs résineuses à souhait avec la céréale. Super.

Lambic flight 3/3. Semihazy, pale amber beer. Or deep gold. Probably they are the one and the same color anyway. Marginal carbonation produces a frazil-icy lace ring on the top. A smoooooky scent. Love it! 🧡 Smoked cured ham. Apricot, a sour edition of orange pulp, orange peel. I can also identify wheat malt in the background. Now we are talking! The taste offers a much less prominent smoky nuance. Bitter wheat malt, still relatively zesty overall. Lemon. Green apple. Sour apricot. I'm trying hard to locate gooseberry on the tastebuds but I have to admit that it remains hidden to me this time. Not sure if the yeast is wild but it's yeast anyway. The body is light-medium. Still nothing spectacular. The end is smoky, fruity. Apricot for sure. Disappears fairly quickly. The mouthfeel is light-medium, zesty, pulpy, juicy, smoky, smooth. Faintly vinous. Barrel notes detectable. Nice. Different.

Lambic flight 2/3. Brilliant straw. Looks like a Lager with the exception that the carbonation has already died when I get this far. Initially, the white froth climbed one finger high but now there's basically nothing left. Let me sniff the beer. I receive rotten apple, Belgian yeast but not wild, lemon and a touch of green grape. Resembles a Saison more than a Lambic. The gustatory profile is that of a Wild Ale, again. Lambic is a remote dream. Green gooseberry lingers beautifully on the tastebuds. Sour apple, lemon pulp, white wine, distinct oaky notes can be spotted. Wheat is evident. This flight is aiming higher — I hope. The body is light. Once again. Looks like there's nothing big here tonight. Anyways, the end is unchanged from upfront. Apple, raw green gooseberry and lemon still rest on the tongue. Gives an idea of a fruity white wine. That's great. The mouthfeel is light, juicy, a bit vinous, very dry and drying. Mouthcoating. Slightly Belgiany. Still not funky. What the heck?

The first flight wasn't too impressive, rather vice versa. I need a revanche. Therefore, a smaller flight of three Lambics. Lambic flight 1/3. Clear gold beer with a faint hazy reflection. Impotent carbonation. A pure white moussy head that reaches half a finger only. Then a mere hair-thin lace ring. Smells reasonable. Sour peach. Lemon peel. Wild yeast. Distantly farmhousey, like horse stable. The direction is right. Very sour taste: wild yeast dominates, lemon zest, peach and lemon accompany. The body is light. For sure. The citrusy end waves with a long tail. The mouthfeel is tart, puckering, juicy, dry and drying. What I'm missing here big time is the funkiness and Belgiany character. Nothing special compared to the masters of Lambics but alright though. Could well be a Wild Ale.

Flight 4/4. This is, again, semiclear. And deep gold. None of these beers is hazy, not even close. The froth looks moldy, off-white. The glass is left with a truly concealing frost. Lemon, grass, grapefruit peel. That's the olfactory supply. Lemon, grapefruit, grass, pine resin. It's the turn of the gustatory segment to show off. Decent but nothing more. The body is light minus. The finish is especially lemony, pith and peel are ample. The mouthfeel is light, zesty, somewhat crisp, dry, easy. Best of the flight as I didn't expect much. And Hanoi Rocks is playing in the loudspeakers. Up around the bend. 📻🎸🎤
