Nez torréfier, broue constante, couleur noir opaque avec un goût prononcé de café et chocolat noir légèrement crémeuse...

Nice colour. Aroma is very malty, singed caramel, and candy sugar. The hops have spicy and floral notes. There is a bit of boozy nose to it as well. Flavour is quite large but balanced nicely. Sweet and spicy with lots of floral perfume hop to help tame the big malt. Alcohol is noticeable. I'd have it again.

Aromatically appealing whith fruity grapefruit, mandarin, kumquat, and lemongrass. This is good because visually it is rather unappealing with a muddy grapefruit juice colour. It does boast a generous but short lived bubbly head. The taste is very good too. Very balanced and neither weak nor overblown, but very juicy. Not overpowering but not watery. Grapefruit, mandarin, kumquat, lemon, and orange peel zest. Very mildly tart, with a ever so slightly peppery aftertaste. Refreshing and fun. I think I like that Kveik.

Rainy season has fallen upon us and..... insert some other reasons here....so I've decided on this dunkel. Ruby brown with a standard head. Very nice dark caramel and toffee aroma with very minor hints of chocolate and a bit of sharpness from the wheat. Medium light body falling more on the light side and very clean, it has a nice nuttiness to it. There are also the caramel and slight chocolate notes as well as a mild earthy taste. The wheat really thins it out and helps it from being sweet. I Iike it.

After returning from an epic camping trip in a mindblowing location with mind blowing heat, the first rain has has spattered us with a sheen of relief. So I decided that I would try for a mindblowing beer to help the rain keep things fresh. It fills a glass with a respectable darkness the is almost opaque, letting just a hint of ruby shine through on the flashlight test. As a nice thick creamy head builds to two fingers, I notice what seems to be a sour scent emanating from the pour. I hope it has not gone bad. Then a quick review of the label to see what I'm getting myself into reveals lactic beet mash as an ingredient. What in the name of Charlie Mopps? I had t been expecting a sour stout but, hey I'm trying to be funky and new here so,... perfect. The first thing the nose gets is a mild sourness that is far fainter than I would have guessed based on the pour. Quickly however the aroma becomes an almost creamy roast coffee bean, and cocoa with the faintest hint of toasted licorice and vanilla. By this point the head had faded to a respectable thin layer that maintains a thicker ring around the edges of the glass. The first taste is adequately odd with oscillating mild tangy tartness. (Yes I know what oscillating means and yes that is appropriate. Weird but appropriate) it's strange because all the right stout notes are present, just sour. As the amplitude of the oscillations smooth out, the tartness gives way to an elegantly sparse treatment of the coffee, chocolate, and cocoa. Body is thin but not weak bringing an easy drinkability. At first I can get nothing of the beets other than a lovely earthy taste, but as the drink nears completion, I start to find remnants in the aftertaste. Mindblown.

My adequately not ugly yard is now a disaster after gutting and renovating my kitchen. Soni dont want to sit outside and enjoy the super hot weather with this new beer. Instead I'll stand in my new kitchen. I know first world problems. Firstly there is no head to speak of on this gorgeous amber brown beer. Generous aromas of caramel malt, honey, date, a lightl stonefruit with resinous undertones hops fill seem to fill the room. The taste is mostly fruit hops with light caramel and not much bitterness other than what is needed to keep it from seeming sweet. Medium body with creamy mouthfeel. Tasty but oddly off season beer. I dig it.
