Whooah... I'm lagging behind. Again. And will lag behind probably up to the weekend. Well, can't help. The long days take their toll. Advent Calendar #️⃣1️⃣5️⃣ shows a very dark burgundy to dark brown complexion. Timid carbonation. A moussy, purple mauve head falls short of half a finger and melts to the sides. Powerful red wine occupies the airspace. Plum skin, purple grape, intensive oak barrel notes list among the other olfactory components. Massive red wine and strong oak barrel whip my tastebuds from the right and the left. Modest whispers of dark plum skin, purple grape and dried blackberry try to join the monologue but it's really hard to make such a move. The body is light to light-medium. The end doesn't change the route of ample wine. The mouthfeel is light, intense, deep, extraordinarily vinous, super tannic, tart and puckering. Flat. Intriguing but definitely not balanced.

Todella paahteinen. Hyvällä tavalla omaan makuuni. Hieman hedelmäisyyskin ja kohtuullinen humalointi pilkistävät esiin paahteisuuden takaa.

Yli vuoden tynnyrissä kypsytettyä saisonia. Kypsytyksen seurauksena maussa on reilusti tammisuutta. Muutenkin maku on pehmeä ja syvyyttä löytyy. Tämän lisäksi maku on hieman kirpeä ja hiivainen. Oikein onnistunut saison.

Advent Calendar #️⃣2️⃣ reveals a transparent, dark chestnut brown beer with a burgundy reflection. A bit timid carbonation. A small-bubbled creamy head forms on the top with the strength of one finger. The nose receives roasted malt, cookie and raw cacao powder. A small injection of toasted barley flour enters the scene, as well. Gives a good promise. The chocolatey flavor of cacao nibs intensifies considerably on the tongue. Cookie is obvious. The malty sphere is sweetish but only marginally toasted. Am I getting a faint hint of blackcurrant in the background? The body rates medium-full to full. Like full minus. Or something. The end is sweet-leaning, chocolatey and slightly toasted. Not really different from the first encounter. The sensation is full, modestly lip-glueing and faintly toasty. Neatly balanced but one 33 cl can is enough.
