Ostettu Morro bayn Libertine pubista mukaan. Samea, meripihkan värinen. Tuoksussa hapanta tallintausta ja kevyesti hiivaa. Pehmeänkevyt ja tasapaksu, pehmeästi hapan ja erittäin juotava sour IPA. Tammisuus tynnyristä pistää kevyesti esiin. Jälkimaussa kuivempaa hapokkuutta, mutta edelleen pehmeässä muodossa.

Hieman tummempi keltainen, samea. Pehmeän hapokas ja hedelmäinen tuoksu. Ananaksinen hapokkuus, taitteessa kuivan sitruunainen hapokkuus. Runko tanakka ja hapokas. Jälkimaku kuivan hapokas ja sitruksinen

Kaunis, vaalea ja kirkas kuparinen. Mehuisan makea tuoksu. Kärki jälleen mukavan pehmeä ja hapokas, runko hedelmäisen makeanhapokas. Jälkimaku kurtistaa kieltä kivasti.

Stocking Stuffer is a Wild Stout fermented and aged in French oak spirit barrels. As a sour stout, it's an interesting, unique beer -- certainly my first stout with a notable sour ale twist. This seems to be a 2016 vintage according to the cork. The beer colors semifoggy, deep dark brown. The lively, long-lasting carbonation creates a one-finger, cappuccino-colored, silky head that descends gradually to a frazil-icy lacing wafting on the surface. The retreating foam leaves multiple small erratic splashes on the glass. The scent pushes forward medium-sour blackberry, remote blueberry and faint blackcurrant. I can also pick a coffeeish hint somewhere in the shadows. The taste receptors get confused as the elements seem to obviously mismatch: the Wild Ale components of blackberry, blueberry, black cherry and distant blackcurrant are substantially dominant over the Stout element of truly restrained black coffee. A noticeable punch of sherry, remote red wine and a touch of wet oak barrel float all over the gustatory universe. The body is light-medium. The beer finishes with relatively sour blackberry, purple grape, sour cherry and a tad blueberry. Wet sherry and red wine barrels bring in their peculiar unique nuances to the package. The coffeeish whisper disappears in eternity. The aftertaste gives the tastebuds a medium-lasting cryptic challenge to solve. The mouthfeel is a tad light, extraordinarily tart and noticeably puckering. It goes without saying that this is Funky with capital F as well as extremely unique. Furthermore, the mouthfeel is also neatly barrel aged but simultaneously a bit coarse, faintly vinous and somewhat acidic. Still further, it's astringent, rather dry and truly mouth-drying. The beer is categorized as "Stout - Other" in Untappd albeit I find this more like an American Wild Ale than Stout.

The bottle is interestingly double secured: a cork in the neck of the bottle and a metallic cap on it. The beer colors turbid, strawberry-juice-colored. The arrogant, long-playing carbonation releases an off-white, fluffy tiny-bubbled head that exceeds one finger. The foamy lid descends gradually to a lower level and remains as such for significantly long. The nose receives loads of fresh homemade raspberry mash. The olfactory provision is simple but attractive. The tongue experiences extremely sour raspberry nectar, a suggestion of redcurrant and distant rowanberry. The body is light. The finish continues more or less unchanged from upfront but the sourness loses a bit of its intensity. The duration of the aftertaste is between medium and long. The mouthfeel is substantially tart and truly puckering, colossally gardeny and appealingly juicy. Quite simple and straighforward, as well.

Flight 4/4. Lucid, deep red beer. A very restrained aroma of sour purple grape emanates to the nostrils. The tongue receives sour redcurrant, lingonberry, cranberry and purple grape. I also find a bit of red wine among the gustatory elements. The body is light to light-medium. The beer ends with sour lingonberry and cranberry, followed by a bit of rowanberry as well as red grape. The aftertaste puckers the tastebuds for long. The mouthfeel is juicy, light-tart but not puckering. It's also slightly vinous, yet refreshing but too thin for 8.9 %.

Flight 3/4. Sludgy, raisin brown beer. The olfactory provision includes a suggestion of fermented raisin and a reserved touch of bitter caramel. The taste receptors familiarize themselves with thin fermented raisin, a noticeable touch of red wine, faint date and a silent idea of biscuit. The body is light-medium. The aftertaste serves a decent dollop of red wine, a tad fermented raisin and distant bitter crackers. The aftertaste keeps the tastebuds active for some time. The mouthfeel is tart and puckering, slightly vinous, acidic and relatively flat. It's also surprisingly thin for the ABV of 11.25 %. A bit disappointingly overall.
