From the second you open this and get a whiff of what's inside, you know it's going to be a really old school ipa. Unfortunately it fell down at the first hurdle as the pour was quite flat and while it left a body of nice amber with a golden hue, it left the tiniest traces of white foam that dissipated very quickly. There was some carbonation so not all was lost although I get the feeling I need to hurry up or that will quickly fade too. Aroma is mild pine resin and bitter malt underneath candied orange peel and overripe mango. The feeling in the mouth is a little crisp at first before turning largely foamy. Mild carbonation remains throughout but remains largely in the background, making the medium body more well rounded. Taste is mango, orange peel and faint pineapple before the malts roll in and take over. Toffee hits first followed quickly by sweet biscuit then a small trace of doughy bread before the bitter pale malt rides out the aftertaste. A good old school ipa.

A little lackluster pour with reasonable amounts of foam and carbonation, gifts a amber body with peculiar hue of ruby red and brown. It has a half finger of off white, foamy head which retains for the entirety of the drinks life. The scent is malty, some sweet, bready dough, salty cracker and the followed by dried fruit and just a pinch of toffee. It is a medium bodied beer, with lots of foam. There was carbonation at the beginning but this has gone flat quite prematurely I think, and seems to have taken some of the body with it. The taste is dried fruits, a little more prominent than it was in the scent but all the other notes, while still present, have become a little watery, or atleast it feels that way since the fatness arrived. So faint cracker and toffee remain with the addition of a thin roasted barely note. Not great but I would happy try it again.
