Another Texas brew for Ryan and I to share via Duo. We've had some Panther Islands before and been pretty good. Small head. Quickly goes to nothing. Totally clear peach color. Aroma gives cinnamon with traces of clove. First sip is decidedly unpleasant. Strong cinnamon, clove, some kind of spice. No cranberry puree at all. Hesitantly trying a second sip. No, this isn't good. No cranberry at all, the base flavor is sour, spices of cinnamon, clove, they claim ginger, is bad. Not just unpleasant but just plain bad. Not drinking any more of this. Bad beer but got a few tenths for the great can.

Not bad but nothing to write home about. Expected more of that caramelized taste of beaver nuggets.

Picked up this Fort Worth Texas beer to enjoy with my son-in-law on Duo. Enjoyed this almost a year ago, will rerate it tonight. Seems heavy on the pour. Small head that's disappearing while it enters the glass. Aroma brings forth a dark fruit, raisin best describes it. Add some sweet deep malt with notes of coffee. Color of a dark cola ruby-brown, clear but very dark. Texture is indeed heavy but not syrupy. Powerful flavor has strong bittersweet deep roasted malt and very dark coffee. No raisin. Finish simply continues these characteristics while the bitterness continues beyond that. This is not a complicated or complex beer. Very simple, bittersweet roasted malt and strong dark coffee. Found no other flavors influencing the palate. I have really enjoyed this coffee beer.

In Texas at Whiskey River Ranch with family enjoying some beers. Was tricked by the change in the can. I've had this before but did not know it. Has no head on the pour. Very little aroma. Light, thin texture. Deep malt with notes of peanut butter, followed by a mild bittersweet cocoa chocolate. Not a very complex or complicated beer. It's okay and tasty but nothing special.

A Texas Duo beer to share with my son-in-law in Texas. This one is a Fort Worth Texas brew. Pours to a very deep ruby red color. Aroma has alcohol, roasted malt and a small amount of chocolate. Flavor is first alcohol, but not barrel aged, dark roasted malt, and sweet caramel. This is followed by notes of chocolate. The finish drops the sweetness entirely. While the deep roasted malt remains, a slightly sour and bittersweet coffee appears. I am enjoying this beer much more the second time around.
