Mosaic Double Dry Hopped Cutting Tiles
8.5% Imperial IPA / Double IPA
As we continue to push the boundaries of hopping rates, we're excited to debut our first double dry-hopped addition to the Cutting Tiles lineup. Brewed with an amplified amount of PNW Mosaic hops, DDH Mosaic Cutting Tiles presents a warm orange with a soft, glowing haze. The nose offers a potent blend of sweet stone fruit, with interwoven notes of peach rings, candied apricot, and juicy pineapple. A delicate earthy honey character pokes its head out on the palate, resting upon a full and fluffy body. Finishing mildly sweet with a kick of piney bitterness, DDH Mosaic Cutting Tiles is a welcomed evolution of our beloved Honey IPA recipe.

Extended Quarantine Day #29. Confinement of Uusimaa Region Day #17. Turbid, apricot-jam-hued beer with long-lasting carbonation creates a white, whipped-creamy head that equals one finger's yardstick. The velvety froth descends really slowly to a awesome, mousse-like layer that effectively caps the beer's precious aromas. The sluggishly retreating foam leaves frogspawn-looking lacings on the glass. I haven't yet taken a sniff, neither sip, but the appearance is exceptionally beautiful: thick tropical nectar. The scent takes me to tropical sunshine, enjoying breakfast with a huge glass of thick fruit bomb: apricot, nectarine and mango dance in turns. Orange is weaker whereas grapefruit is really distant, yet they both show up with a floral crown and are glued with a drop of honey. A tiny injection of slightly pungent carambola is joined by a new friend of light-grassy hops that otherwise stays quite unexpectedly in the shadows. Palm tree shades nicely while the turquoise ocean hits gently the shoreline. I can hear the sound of waves playing their maritime symphony. I take a sip... Wow! A powerful thick fruit cocktail occupies every nook of my mouth: nectarine and mango can't be missed. Fresh apricot joins the choir. The hoppy punch is much more pronounced on the tongue than on the nose. It's actually quite dry-hoppy which is no surprise -- one can even guess it from the name. It's also somewhat grassy and a tad piney, showing perhaps a drop of resin, as well. The citrus is composed of lemon pith and grapefruit peel, the sweeter elements were left in the air. Some hop burn follows shortly but dilutes rapidly away. All that bittercrisp palette is obviously rounded by a nice tiny dollop of sticky honey. The body is medium-full. It's amazing how differently the malt bodies of two different beers behave: yesterday's Jamaica Pond had 7 % and the body was thinner than it should have been. Now the ABV is 8.5 % and the body is relatively robust. Of course these are two totally different beers with different hops and so forth but still. The retreating waves produce a gentle rippling sound in my ears. The finishing package floats smoothly on my taste receptors: I find first a rather strong dry-hoppy whirlpool with a grassy undertone. The citrusy components intensify again. Even a bit of orange zest is added to the medley. Mango, nectarine and distant persimmon can also be spotted momentarily. The aftertaste disappears as fast as the playful dolphins that approach the tanned swimmers. The mouthfeel is extremely tropical if I didn't already make that clear. The mouthfeel is also truly velvety as a balmy tropical morning and flows smoothly down the throat. It's massively juicy, somewhat crisp and nicely warming. All in all, a thick nectar-like and satiating drink! Post scriptum: lying lazily on the backyard deck under the warming sun and with an excellent beer is prone to boosting creativity. Even the quarantine-like conditions feel like a bliss. 🌞🐞👍🏻🍺😀

On aika uudenlaisen olutkokemuksen ensimmäisen Trilliumin muodossa. Jälkiliu'ussa on mukavaa, pirteämpää rypäleisyyttä, jälkimaun ollessa rotevan kuivakka. Alusta loppuun on selvää että suutuntuma on tämän oluen vahvuuksia. Erittäin suunmyötäistä juotavaa vailla teräviä kulmia. Humalointi on sopivan voimakas eikä alkoholista ole tietoakaan. Maukasta, helppoa (liiankin) ja laadukasta olutta. Toinen tai kolmas olisi mennyt huomaamatta. Hyvää pääsiäisen aikaa Pint Please-jöysseille! 🐣

OLUT: Mosaic DDH Cutting Tiles PANIMO: Trillium Brewing Co. OLUTTYYPPI: DIPA MAA: Yhdysvallat VAHVUUS: 8,5% VÄRI (EBC): Appelsiininkeltainen (16.0) KATKEROT (EBU/IBU): - TUOKSU: Kiiwiä, ananasta, appelsiinia. Mukavasti hieman rustiikkisen karhea. VAAHTO: Suureellista seittiä rakentava. Vetäytyy hitaan tyynesti. Runsas. GREY’S VIEW Nyt on miellyttävä suutuntu/makukombo. Maussa alkuun mehuisampi; appelsiinia, aprikoosia, ananasta ja ananaksenkuorta. Suutuntu kehittyy hauskasti alun mehuisuudesta hiilihappojen avautuessa tuollaiseksi hyvinkin ryhdikkääksi ja antavaksi yksilöksi. Humalointi on rapsakkaa, mutta hyvässä balanssissa kokonaisuuteen nähden. Mielekästä. Runko on puolitukevan tukeva. Jälkimaku on melko pitkä. Hedelmäisyys kehittyy snadisti ruraalisempaan, ruohoisempaan ja aivan päätteeksi esiin nousevasti piilomakean tahmaisen hunajaiseksi. MUUTA MAINITTAVAA: Miellyttävän laajakirjoinen ja siltikin helposti nautittavaa, ehtaa uuden mantereen laatu olutta. Maku säilyy mukavan pitkään suussa. Canned 6/12/2019 Tasted 25/12/2019

Eilen nautiskeltu tämä herkku ennen joulupöydän antimia. Oli tuttuun tyyliin upean mehumaisen näköistä olutta. Lasista leijaili jo kaadettaessa ihanan voimakkaan humalainen ja hedelmäinen tuoksu. Hieman hapokkaampaa hedelmäisyyttä kuten aprikoosia, persikkaa ja ananasta. Hieman maanläheisyyttä taustalla. Super mehukas ja täyteläinen suutuntuma ollen samalla todella helposti juotava. Maku on makean trooppisen hedelmäinen, hieman imelän hunajainen, kepeän sitruksinen sekä lopussa aavistuksen ruohoinen ja maanläheinen. Ihana 😋
