Brouwerij De Prael  Scotch Ale In rötlichem Bernstein…. ….gehalten ist das trübe Scotch Ale aus Amsterdam mit seinem mittellang haltenden Schaum, dass mir der liebe Winny aus den Niederlanden mitgebracht hat. Merci schon mal vorab. Orangen, Biskuit, mediterrane Kräuter und Malz sind zu riechen und bis auf die Kräuter auch zu schmecken. Im schwach karbonisierten Antrunk ist neben der bitteren Komponente auch recht schnell eine kräftig alkoholische Note präsent, die ein wenig stört. Ziemlich bitter, trocken und alkoholisch fließt es dann den Rachen hinunter.

First flight 3/4 Semiclear, deep amber beer with fizzy carbonation and a cream-yellow, cotton head. The olfactory provision includes biscuit, orange peel, cantaloupe, sweet malt and... faint carrot. The tongue experiences sweet malt, biscuit, orange zest, lemon pulp and a remote nuance of mango. I can also detect distant Belgian yeast. Of course I can't avoid the relatively penetrative alcohol on the taste receptors. The body is medium to medium-full. The beer ends long with chemical alcohol, sweet malt, faint mango and faint biscuit. The mouthfeel is extraordinarily strong, somewhat chemical and boozy but also light on the tongue. Not particularly attractive.
