Took the family to see Christmas lights at Noccalula Falls. Unbelievably beautiful tonight.
This is one of my favorite porters. Rated it in the fall of 2019, December of 2020, and it's time for me to do it again.
Very pleasant sweet peanut butter aroma with just a little alcohol. The difference between this and a stout is its texture. It has a clean and soft texture but not at all creamy. Comes across with a sharp raw bittersweet cocoa. As it moves into the finish, an unsweetened organic peanut butter appears on the back of the tongue while keeping the previous bitterness intact. Lasting and all of it is dry as sand.
This is my idea of a delicious dessert porter. Never get tired of it.

Watching football in my son's man cave and hitting some good strong stouts. I've had this one before but it's been over a year. Enjoyed a lot of stouts since then and wanted to see if it still deserves the 4.7 I gave it.
Poured it down the middle of a sniffer glass and still had a very small head that disappeared quickly. Strong peanut butter aroma. Texture is heavy and dry. Comes at you strong with peanut butter, very dark cocoa chocolate and an abundance of alcohol. Feels stronger than 9%. Finish comes across with a dry, roasted chocolate, some peanut butter, with a lasting bitterness.
I still love this beer and feel it definitely deserves the 4.7 I gave it before.
