I've saved the best till last. Whilst setting off fireworks in the pub beer garden I had a chat with the amazing Mr and Mrs Mills. Their new beer is just out and I was kindly allowed to take a bottle home. Just read this description....Made using the turbid mash method in the style of a Lambic beer. The wort was fermented with lees from the great cider maker Tom Oliver and then aged in old oak barrels for 14 months. It was then finished with a dry hop of Syrian Goldings to compliment the wild yeast. If that is not the absolute definition of 'craft' I don't know what is. Their taste description is 'balanced, dry and lightly tart' which is perfect. It's cloudy, golden and one of the most naturally tasting drinks of any kind you are likely to try. Masterful. Available hardly anywhere. 750ml bottles at The Sally. Next weekend is The Sally Beer Festival - 'We Need to talk about Kegging'. Without doubt the best lineup of 20 beers I've ever seen. It's going to be immense.
