A super-charged version of our flagship stout. We love rebrewing this luxuriously decadent beer each year, where we double the coconut, cacao, vanilla and Tonka and dial it up to 7.5%. Rich with chocolate and coconut with a lingering warmth of Tonka and Madagascan vanilla, it’s pure liquid Bounty!

It comes roaring out of the can, great carbonation to give a full head on the pour. Good colour too. It’s strong which you want from an imperial but balanced out by the sweet flavours.

IMPERIAL TONKOKO imperial milk stout by the guys at BREW YORK. I’ve seen/heard so many good things about this beer and couldn’t wait to try it. This stout comes in at 7.5%. First of all I think the artwork on the can looks great and is quite eye catching. The beer pours a jet black colour in the glass with 3-4 finger tan coloured head. The carbonation was roaring on the pour! The fizzing was so loud! Looks so good in the glass. The aroma then... chocolate, coffee, caramel as you expect from a good milk stout. There’s some vanilla, plum, prune and fig. It’s smells like tiramisu, with that coffee coming through. Smells great. The taste... wow. Really, really nice. It’s got a thick, gloopy mouthfeel. It’s quite dense. It’s very dessert-like. You get coffee, chocolate and caramel. Touch of vanilla, along with the prune, fig and plum. Some dark, bitter chocolate. You do kind of get the 7.5% feel as the beer goes down but it’s nothing major. I’m nitpicking, but the only thing that was kind of annoying was the head didn’t want to disappear at all! Had to fight through the froth quite a bit. Overall, BREW YORK have done a good job here. It’s not among the best imperial milk stouts I’ve had but it definitely holds it’s own. Well worth a go. On a side note, don’t drop the beer before you open it. It’ll BLOW UP on the opening!
