5.0% Premium Bitter / Strong Bitter / ESB
Full bodied, rich and malty, with a distinctive hop character. First brewed in 1994 to celebrate 200 years of brewing at Palmers. So popular that it is now our flagship premium ale.

Big hit of caramel on first sip, gentle hop bite followed. The beer mellows in to a bready, fruity smooth ale with a swift citrus finish. Just been reading about the history of Palmer’s Brewery a few days ago in my British Family Brewers book so it was nice to drink something from a brewery I just read about, especially as the brewery itself is 5 mins up the road.

Nice, easy to drink, quite refreshing not too strong bitter with sweet aftertaste. Easy as a session beer.

Another distinctly average beer. An ESB I think not. If this was just a bitter I’d have scored it higher. Under promise over deliver please.
