This is called "old school" but it bears no resembles to the "beers" I drank in the mid 1960s.
A little hazy copper coloured with three fingers, light beige, foamy head that was quite turgid and took a good ten minutes to disappear and left a dainty bit of lacing.
Nose is a rich but moderate strength aromas of bread, caramel and hints of berries
Well carbonated and smooth over the tongue
Initially it's a bit dank with earthy herbs and grass but wait a few moments and sliding in is a subtle complementing caramel and then a tiny hint of berries. When these late arrivals subside the sides and back of the tongue still have the lingering bitter feel that's quite satisfying.
Not your standard bitter but a quality beer with depth of flavours, character and strength.
Nice one 👍
