Lucid, copper beer with subdued carbonation serves a frogspawny, off-white head that falls short of one finger. The foamy cap dissipates rapidly to a modest lace ring orbiting the surface.
Graham cracker and bitter caramel are the first nuances to find my nose. Thereafter, I get also cereals. Nicely grainy.
The gustatory provision is thin but more flavorsome than I anticipate of a 3.8 % brew. I find beautiful bitter light-piney and straw-like hops, lots of malty elements, grainy for sure, graham cracker, multigrain bread and very bitter grapefruit peel. Lovely classical flavors!
The body is thin, of course. The finish is just bitter, hoppy, malty and piney. Maybe also a bit resinous. No citrus anymore. The aftertaste shows a bitter face for a long time.
The mouthfeel is thin, crisp, piney, dry and drying, to start with. It's also moderately flat, something like a real ale, but not exactly so. And this is certainly not a real ale anyway. English Bitter, good old style! And this compares favorably within that category.
