Our Red Rye Ale is based on the very popular Redlands Red that we brewed last year, originally in celebration of our city's 125th anniversary. To celebrate American Craft Beer Week 2014 we've taken that recipe and included a portion of Rye in the malt bill, adding some spice and crackery malt character. We dry-hopped it with Amarillo and Cascade, bringing classically American hop aromatics to the front. It pours a deep ruby red and boasts an ABV of 6.5%. Ever since we brewed our Redlands Red people have been asking us to bring it back, but we knew that when we did, we wanted to go the extra mile. The added complexity of rye in the malt bill brings an added level of balance and complexity to a beer which is already becoming a Tasting Room favorite.
