Bluebird Bitter 4.2%, Coniston Brewery, England

Bluebird Bitter

Bluebird XB combines two of the great themes of ale brewing to produce something distinctive and new. The fine tradition of English Pale Ale is about quaffing, refreshment and complexity of flavour without alcoholic strength. Then throw in new wave American hop variety Mount Hood with robust citrus aromas and the result is a smooth ale with floral hints, light malt tones and a hoppy freshness.

I’m a Pale man so wasn’t ever going to “love “ this. But decent enough. My father in law would love it as it has more of a traditional taste….dog was pleasantly surprised also.

A fantastic English bitter-one of the finest ales I’ve ever tasted. Exceedingly pale with just a hint of colour from the dash of crystal malt. It has an orange fruit aroma from the hops, balanced by biscuity malt. Juicy malt and tart hops can be tasted while the finish is creamy and hoppy. The tangy fruit lingers while each sip gets better. No wonder this beer has won many 🏆

Fine tasting English bottle conditioned session ale brewed by Coniston Brewing Company in the Lake District, England. Golden in colour, hoppy and malty in flavour combining for a great bitter and smooth flavour. 4.2% in a 500ml bottle.
