Happy to announce the release of our first new beer in many years- Michilimackinac Imperial Stout – Line 5 Edition. Brewed Jolly Pumpkin with naturally occurring wild yeasts and the first time we have used bourbon barrels instead of French Oak. Four Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels became known as the Funky Four after they spent 1.5 years holding cherry port at a #Leelanau winery before heading to Jolly Pumpkin where they held La Roja and Biere de Mars for four years. We brewed 10bbls of Line 5 Batch 1 and aged it in the Funky Four and brought in one fresh, wet Buffalo Trace barrel and blended them together. This beer is named to bring awareness to a precarious old oil pipeline that runs under the Mackinac Straits. Line 5, Batch 1 Released 10 / 2014. (Status: sold out)
