St. Stefanus Grand Cru is a Belgian golden beer that can be left to mature in the bottle for several months after purchase and thus develop elaborate and full-bodied flavours. At nine months it develops into a fresh and balanced brew with fruity aromas of lemon and grapefruit rounded off with subtle tinges of herbs. Banana, peach, papaya and pineapple splash together on the palate before simmering down to a mildly bitter finish. Age brings greater complexity and maturity; at 36 months this St Stefanus comes fully into its own with a sophisticated dryness and sublime effervescence.
