A Duo beer that Ryan gave me that's from Bedford Texas. A blonde Sour aged over 3 years in red wine barrels, rum barrels, coconut, pineapple, passion fruit, cherry and the kitchen sink. What could possibly go wrong with this?
Enters the glass looking red on the bottom and yellow on the top, hazy as the Mississippi River. Aroma of pineapple and red wine. It starts with a big dose of pineapple, coconut and strong rum. Then a red wine and passion fruit hits the back of the mouth. As the finish arrives everything turns sour with notes of cherry and a light alcohol burn. While each of these flavors is somewhat good it's like a demolition derby. Everything crashing into each other with parts flying in every direction.
I don't know how to describe this. I enjoyed the first half a second and then total chaos. The definition of unbalanced. Parts of it are good but overall I can't give it a high rating. Strangely, I keep saying I'm going to pour it out, but I keep taking another sip. Train wrecks can be fascinating. 🤢
