Alright, catching up... Advent Calendar #️⃣1️⃣4️⃣. Interesting, this isn't an Imperial Stout but a Warley Bine. Barley Wine. The barrel is Amarone red wine. The beer is dressed in relatively foggy brown. Not very dark but not light either. The carbonation is slightly timid but produces an off-white fluffy head that rockets three fingers high. The foamy crown shrinks to a generous whipped-creamy lace ring and a fragile haze on the top. The nose... well, gets disappointed. Restrained. Considerably. Sweet malt and date in the air. But astonishingly weak. If the scent leaves room for improvement, the taste lifts the experience higher. Much higher. I spot date, raisin, dried plum, sweet malt, syrup and cane sugar. Sweet red wine escorts the cocktail, quite moderate though. A remote oaky twist follows in the shadows. The body is full, though not robust. A sweet aftertaste, with raisins, date and prune. The sensation is full, deep, lip-glueing, gentle and desserty. Barrel aged. But not vinous despite Amarone. Seductive in any case. Yess, back in the game!

Bonne bière très céréales, des notes de pruneaux, des notes de fruits sec, une bonne présence de sucre, des notes de levures et un final boisé le tout est très puissant en bouche

On sent dien l'alcool C'est à la limite d'être écoeurant C'est un peu caramélisé J'aime bien

Gros goût d'alcool Pas trop écoeurante mais fatigante après coup

Un pur régal comme d'habitude. Pour info, l'amarone est un vin italien souvent riche en alcool ( 16° en moyenne).

Très très belle découverte, cette barley wine vieillie en fut avec ses arôme de fruits et ses notes caramélisée. Très ronde en bouche et pas si puissante c’est un tres bon breuvage 🤘🤘👍
