Sahti kuuluu kekriin.

Tasapainoinen.
Ruis 👌
Jatkoon.

Makeaa mallasta. Hedelmäinen. Hunajaa. Toffeeta. Banaania. Ruislimppua. Katajaa. Hiivainen. Runko mukavan ryhdikäs ja soljuva. Herkkua.
0,33 tölkki oikein sopiva koko tälle. Vanha 1,5 litran pussi oli melkoinen haaste yhdelle illalle 😅

Let's have a Sahti for a while. This is a new entrant in the Mallassepät Sahti series. Edition "Summer 2024", canned in 08/2024.
I've had a couple of Sahtis by this brewery before, latest the "Winter 2023" version. I'm tasting this and comparing my assessment with the notes of the Winter 2023 version. If they are too similar, my conclusion is that the various batches don't sufficiently differ from each other and I won't taste more of the series unless there's something different.
But let's start.
The Sahti is dressed in cloudy brown. The carbonation is basically nonexistent. A few big bubbles only form on the top and then disappear. This part of the review showed no difference between W23 and S24.
Strong banana, actually both fresh and fermented, as well as brown cookie in the scent. I can also detect dark chocolate and cacao nibs in the air, why not also a bit of rye porridge. Juniper isn't particularly distant either. Well... something similar but also something new in the fragrance.
Rye malt, rye porridge, fermented banana, banana skin, brown cookie, cacao nibs and fairly intensive juniper twig can be identified among the gustatory elements. Quite sweet, overall. Sounds pretty close to W23 but the cacao nibs are a newcomer, as well as dried apricot is now absent. Similarly, I don't spot alcohol unlike last time.
The body is, again, full. Very nice! The end intensifies both the rye and juniper components. Nevertheless, I still can't get alcohol, which is more than marvelous!
The mouthfeel is full, lip-glueing, strong, intense, deep and overripe. More or less the same although I didn't necessarily use exactly all those adjectives then.
My conclusion: this does portray differences compared to the W23 batch. Not big ones but noticeable ones anyway. Of course, I may also pay attention to different things, for which reason I experience this a bit differently. Anyway, Sahti is not easy to repeat identically from batch to batch, therefore, it makes sense to have batches as "different beers", too. I'll buy the W24 batch if it appears in the market. 🍻
I also raise my rating by a couple of decimals.
N.B. The barcode, not surprisingly, leads to "Sahti Talvi 2023".
