Pikkulintu 1 v. Sahti, Finland

A glass of Sahti that has been brewed to celebrate this local watering hole's first anniversary. This Sahti is a rye-based Sahti. The Sahti wears a muddy, medium-raisin-brown outfit. Basically no carbonation but a set of soapy bubbles emerge on the top and decorate it for some time. Fermented banana, some banana skin and sweet-leaning rye malt, at least, can be spotted in the scent. The taste profile is basically sweet-leaning with a faintly harsh twist. The latter stems obviously from the rye malt. Juniper can also play its role. The banana is evident, fairly fermented and faintly bitter like banana skin. The body is light-medium to medium. Decent for the ABV. The end is similar to upfront, just a few basic elements and that's it. The tail waves for a while. The mouthfeel is medium, lip-glueing, distantly harsh, a bit slick and smooth. Even marginally sticky although not particularly thick.
