Maku kevyen tumman maltainen, hyvin makean tumman siirappinen, runsaan piparkakkuisen keksinen ja mausteinen (inkivääriä, kanelia, neilikkaa), aavistuksen paahteinen ja katkera. Todella makeat, runsaat ja mausteiset maut. Suutuntuma on hyvin runsas, sokerisen tahmea, täyteläinen ja pehmeä. Todella makea, hyvin piparkakkuinen ja tuhti imppistout. Pieni paahteisuus olisi voinut olla paikallaan tasapainottamassa kokonaisuutta parantaen myös juotavuutta. Todellinen jälkiruokaolut.

Un nez surprenant façon pain d'épice. Complexe et riche en bouche avec de la cannelle, gingembre, épices et un peu de caramel. Tout de même sucré mais une prouesse au vu des degrés qui sont cachés en longueur et qui sont froid à la manière d'un eisbock.

Every now and again an imperial pastry stout comes along that blows me away. I mostly stay clear of them but get drawn in by certain flavours. Reviews of this beer have led me to believe this is the real deal and I’m pleased to report, it’s true! The base beer is oily and thick, really viscous. It’s complemented superbly by gingerbread flavours. Not the cheap flavourless gingerbread men we get here in Britain but the fresh dough of peppered honey cakes from Eastern Europe, the true origin of gingerbread. It’s really intense. It needs to be dipped and savoured. It’s so good!

A beautiful port all on its own. Very strong but also quite mellow so enjoyable as long as you take it easy. Delicious.
