Hampshire Rose 4.2%, Itchen Valley Brewery, England
11 notes
3.5
Hampshire Rose
4.2% Bitter
Awarded by Henry V on the battlefield of Agincourt to the Archers of Hampshire. Visually tempting, Rose is a carefully selected blend of Maris Otter and roasted barley. Brewed using four choice hops; Target, Hercules, Nugget and Galena producing a truly hoppy finish, worthy of any Kings’ approval.

A good bitter. Lovely, malty flavour with a slight bitterness. Very easy to drink and enjoyable.

Enjoyable ale this one. Light hoppy flavour balanced with some warming malts. Good evening beer.

Although it probably isn't a 5 star beer on taste alone, two factors make this a fine beer. Firstly, it bears the name and flower of the finest county in the land. Secondly, it was a particular favourite on the Monopoly Pub Crawl.
