This beer was made and only sold in Giant supermarkets. So I’m going to point out the wrong things about this first. It’s an imperial amber ale except it’s only 6.8% and it’s not amber in color. Now to the beer. It’s actually quite good. Dark orange color, had to add that, which I guess you can say it’s amber but is really orange. It’s very well balanced between the malty and hoppy side. Malty side leans towards a biscuity bready mix that hits you more up front until mid-range. Hoppy side leans towards orange/orange zest and pine that is there but really kicks in about 1/2 way thru and takes over a bit. Bitterness lingers. Overall they may want to change how they list it style wise but it’s really pretty good. Tastes more like a WCIPA.
