I haven't had an Equilibrium for a while. Now a relatively low-alc brew, I guess this must actually be the lightest Equilibrium for me so far. It'll be interesting. The appearance is hazy, of course, and pale yellow. The carbonation is vivid and produces a creamy head that reaches up to the height of three fingers. The foamy stack collapses erratically to a billowy lace ring and paints the glass with thick messy splatters. The scent is odd: the first slam is given by a cocktail of wet wool and perfume. Strange indeed. This should be very fresh though. Okay, on we go. It's somewhat challenging to locate the other components from behind the dominant woolly curtain but I try: a pinch of apricot and a citrusy hint that I fail to identify in more detail. Not very impressive overall. The taste profile is light, of course, and much more "normal". At least no wool here. I find lemon pulp, a bit of pith, a suggestion of raw mango, a pinch of grass and a distant perfumy vibe. The latter remains, fortunately, in the background but once I spot it, I can't unspot it anymore. Anyway, the palate improves dramatically from the scent but still can't convince me of this brewery's excellence. The body is light, like I said in the beginning. The end is equally bitter citrusy, grassy and faintly perfumy as upfront. The sun'll come out tomorrow; bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow there'll be sun; just thinking about the aftertaste, clears away the cobwebs and the sorrow 'til there's none. The mouthfeel is light, a tad crisp, moderately dry and drying. Furthermore, it's rather smooth and frothy but unfortunately also marginally perfumy. And it disturbs me, not hugely but a bit anyway. All in all, considering the ABV, this is quite gulpable. On the other hand, this beer doesn't exactly meet the expectation that the reputation of the brewery sets. Is this image on the label a dawn or a dusk? I thought I knew but I'm not sure anymore.
