This Martin House beer came in a two beer box but Ryan accidentally drank his half. Gave me my half to take home. Brewed well over a year ago. It's a whiskey barrel-aged pineapple imperial sour. I have been seriously scared of this beer but I guess it's time. Been in my refrigerator too long. White head disappeared quickly. Color is yellow orange, lightly hazy. Aroma,,,,, sour bourbon. Not joking, sour bourbon. Yuck! Flavor,,,,🤔 not bad. Has a fruity bourbon quality. Pineapple juice smoothly blends in. Honey sweetness calms the oak flavored bourbon. Not at all the level of sour I was dreading. Not really sour at all, tart and in a mild manner. The woodsy oak from the Bourbon barrel and ripe pineapple continues from first, middle, right to the finish. Only in the finish does it turn slightly sour. Hidden at first, it gets boozy by the third sip. Did the 16 months of aging affect it? Can't find any evidence of artificial flavors. I'm in total shock. I like this beer. Best Bourbon Barrel-aged Imperial sour I've ever had, also the only one. Unique, oh yes. Never would have believed the rating I'm giving this.
