Beer number 13 of Aldi's Advent Calendar. Irish Style Red Ale. Again this Aldi beer starts with a very high and very frothy head. Nice Amber malt aroma. Color is reddish brown. Flavor starts with malty amber, semi-sweet, notes of caramel in the background. Middle smoothly brings in toasted malt. The finish, while keeping the other flavors, adds some bready biscuit. I like this beer. Has plenty of flavor for this category even though the alcohol at 4.5% seems low. It's very drinkable, and I really could sit back and drink more of these. Would probably trade several of the other Aldi beers for a few more Red Ales.
