Beer number 8 in Aldi's Advent Calendar. Getting a little ahead since there will be no Advent beer tomorrow. This one's a bock which is one of my favorite style of beers. Above average head, pretty thick. Beautiful red Brown color, clear. Amber aroma, semi-sweet. Again with the mild flavor. Roasted malt, earthy notes, some sweetness in the background, light bread. Turns a little dry in the finish but still maintaining a charged sweetness. It tasted pretty good at first but second and third sips seem to reveal an overcooked type quality. Deep in the background the flavor had a singed or scorched quality that persisted in distracting from the other flavors. Once revealed it could not be ignored. Can't recommend it.
