Relaxing after a stressful Alabama win against Ole Miss. A cold wet day means I need a beer, has to be a dark one.
Moderate tan head, disappeared much faster than expected. Dark brown in color with only a touch of Ruby light passing through. Dark malt aroma has traces of autumn spice. Medium to crisp texture. First taste definitely brings the spice, has chai but also traces of nutmeg and walnuts. The dark malt adds a roasted autumn earthiness. Delicately subtle combination of flavors smoothly slides into the finish with only the addition of a nutty bitterness in the background. Late in the finish a dryness hits the middle of the tongue.
A very mild and Holiday feeling brown ale. Every sip feels like Christmas is around the corner. This beer defines a winter beer. It's mildness suggests a very drinkable beer, but be careful. That 7% can add up fast. A delicious beer that would pair perfectly with a large Thanksgiving dinner.
