🇰🇭 left behind, now 🇱🇦 This is a more difficult beer market than Cambodia. The only beer restaurant in this neighborhood is Balance Beer Vientiane. So it must be my destination. Social situation though, must be brief. First of all, a big disappointment is that this watering hole only has imported beers. Not a single local beer. Sh*t. Ok, once I'm here, I'm gonna have a beer anyway. So will my colleagues. This brew is clear yellow. The nose picks lots of hops, somewhat grassy, as well as malt and a clear citrusy punch. The hefty hoppy plus reasonably malty slam continues on the tongue. Grapefruit peel steps forward fairly boldly. The body is light minus. The mouthfeel is light, crisp, pithy, zesty and refreshing. Nothing spectacular for sure.
