Uuuhh, pitkästä aikaa reippaampaa rosenttia ja barley winea, aijai.. Lasiin kaatuu punertavan ruskea, reiluvaahtoinen olut. Tuoksu mieto, humalainen. Lämmetessään tuoksu rikastuu, makeutuu nopeasti! Suutuntuma on hapokas, paksun rikas, sylkirauhasia kutkuttavan katkeroinen. Maussa makeaa leivoksisuutta, siirappia, humalia. Mahtava tuote ❤️

One Barleywine for a nightcap. The beer is dressed in lucid, deep copper. Looks rusty. Carbonation is braver than I anticipate. A cream-yellow, big-bubbled head grows three fingers tall. The foamy lid survives long and leaves big splatters behind. The scent is hoppy. That's the first sensation I get, it even overpowers any malty slam. Clearly American. Raisin, caramel malt and fruit drycake can be spotted in the air. A whisper of clove completes the fragrance. Actually, the package is a a tad doughy. The tastebuds get alerted by the much sweeter tone than what they expect. Sweet malt, a caramelly twist, toffee, date, raisin, cane sugar — actually quite a punch of cane sugar — dried apricot and a suggestion of fermented banana should be included in the flavor breakdown. The palate is quite sweet indeed although I can also pick a suggestion of dry grassy hops. Alcohol is nowhere. The body clocks full. The finish carries the sweet malt over to the end but loses it fast. Fermented banana actually intensifies in the end. The aftertaste is supercilious, pretty and ridiculous; got really good taste; it knows how to cut and paste; what it got is a spike belt and that's it. The mouthfeel is full, thick, lip-glueing, a bit heavy, desserty and heady. I like especially the fact that the beer starts with an American hoppy gear but shifts thereafter more in the English mode on the tongue. A bit of complexity is, therefore, present.
