Had to include a photo from the White water rafting down the Ocoee River. That's my guide in the air. Only broke maybe 12 rules for guides on the Ocoee. Definitely want to see him again. What can I say about 903 Brewing. Really good brewery but you never know what you're going to get. This is another very confusing example of their eccentric beers. To begin with, this beer is to have high alcohol, 12%, decadent buttercream frosting and fully whipped cream notes. Forget that!! Does not seem overly thick on the pour. Absolutely no head on this beer. Concerned that maybe it lost its effervescence on the trip from Texas. My son-in-law in Texas has the same so that's normal for this brew. Can actually see some light coming through on the edges. Swirl in the glass it does not seem heavy. Aroma is heavy on the alcohol. Sweet smell of Double Bubble bubble gum. I think that's a southern United States thing. First sip conveys a heavier, more syrupy texture than expected. Super sweet, confection powdered sugar, high alcohol liquor, combined with mild white chocolate. The finish gently adds a sneaky, teasing whiff of banana to the chocolate. Strangely, while discussing this beer with my son-in-law, my pallet dropped all the sweetness and liqueur and turned to a very charred, earthy and almost mossy experience. What the hell! True to the 903 tradition, this is weird beer to review. I actually think they print the description on the can before the beer has finished brewing. I like this beer, I really do. But it is nothing like what's on the can. What's that goblin got to do with a convection beer? Should be on some badass, kick ass stout. The flavors they tout, I don't get. Shouldn't somebody taste the beer and then describe it for the can? I'm going to give this a 4.3 because I really like the beer. But it would have gotten better review if they had given it an accurate description as to what you were buying.
