Duo is done, now it's Meet. This beer comes in a special two cans to a box limited edition. Perfect brew for sharing a review.
Heavy pour but not syrupy. Aroma is awesome. Bourbon Barrel boozy, strong dark fruit, heavy deep malt. This is going to be great. Texture is heavy but not thick or sticky. Flavor comes hard. Bourbon boozy, really boozy. All of the 12.5% is upfront. Strong stone fruit, really ripe plum or date. Loads of raw cocoa. Extremely well blended, each compliments the other. Finish brings a level of bitterness that I have not experienced with a high alcohol imperial stout. Enough to turn the mouth dry. That along with an unexpected char quality.
This is an outstanding and very complex beer. Son-in-law maxed it out with a 5.0. I'm a little less simply because my palate prefers not to have that level of bitterness during the finish. Martin House hit a home run with this one.
