The PastryArchy Naked Fish Chocolate Raspberry Stout
7.6% Flavoured Stout / Pastry Stout
Bursting with aromas and flavors decadent dark chocolate, coffee beans and fresh raspberries, our taste buds were never the same. Now, this OG favorite is taking the place of our #19 in The PastryArchy series. What a good catch.

Having this 25th anniversary Declaw Brewing beer with my son-in-law on Duo. Raspberry, chocolate and coffee. Sounds fantastic. Deep brown color but was not thick on the pour. Small head that dissipated quickly. Strong raspberry aroma with chocolate blended in. Unusual texture in that it is soft and yet still crisp. Raspberry flavor burst from the start. It is then overwhelmed by a dark milk chocolate followed by a deep roasted coffee. You would think that all of this would be very sweet but it is not. It's bittersweet and dry, a surprising development. As it moves to the finish, the bittersweet raspberry reappears leaving only faint notes of the chocolate and coffee. A parched dryness is all that remains until the next sip. This is a good stout, complex in the way it moves flavors in phases. A little dry but it does have a uniqueness that I like. Most notable is that all the ingredients felt genuine, nothing artificial at all.

Continuing my no IPA weekend. This has a strong raspberry taste with very light chocolate. Medium thickness. Good dessert beer but I don’t think I could drink more than one. Really not my thing but it tastes as advertised. Was worth a try. If you are a raspberry fan you’ll love it. Unfortunately my Eagles lost today. 😕🏈😕
