Olut on väriltään ruskea ja vähä vaahtoinen olut. Tuoksu on hapan, viinimäinen. Maku on hapan, viinimäinen, hiivainen, rusinainen sekä marjainen. This is a weird beer: first, it's Port barrel aged; second, it's an Imperial Red Ale; and third, it's "wild". So, the whole ruffle goes as "Port BA Wild Imperial Red". And 2020 vintage. The beer is muddy, chestnut brown. Carbonation is a bit too arrogant since the froth starts to pour out of the bottle without any warning. Fortunately I noticed it. A tawny head rises three fingers high and then dissipates to the sidelines. The scent hints at a Barley Wine. I'm picking date and raisin, a pinch of caramel, maybe toffee and faint dried plum. A remote suggestion of Brett can also be spotted. Interesting. The taste follows that road only partially. The package is composed of raisin, dark brown malt, caramel, a small injection of cacao nibs, to start with. The other side of the coin is the relatively copious dry hopping that gears somewhat grassy, citrusy and even slightly resinous. The citrusy element contains especially orange peel. There's a distinct oaky touch to it. Alcohol is not entirely camouflaged here but doesn't really disturb either. The body is light-medium to medium, perhaps closer to light-medium than medium. The finish is pretty similar but makes the alcoholic punch a bit more pronounced. The end keeps my tastebuds alert for a truly long time. The mouthfeel is somewhat vinous, barrel aged, a bit woody, tangy and lip-glueing. Still, it's also tart, dry, drying and mouthcoating. Put it short, this is as bizarre as the description sounds. But by no means bad. Actually quite reasonable. And like always, I like the fact that the brewer has clearly decided to break every law and create a mongrel. 🤎🤎 NOTE: The barcode gives the regular "Süpermän".

Ruuan laitto olunen… Sanoisin et tuoksusta löytyy hiivaa jossa olisi mukana rusinaa, pähkinää, mallasta…. Sellaista erillaista mitä ei yleensä ole tuoksussa. Ensipuraisu on hieman omalaatuinen aromi. Rusinaa, mallasta, pähkinää, hiivaa löytyy. Jälkimaussa on rusinaa, mallasta, suklaista hennon makeeta aromia. Hyvän lisän makuun tuo makeus… välillä esiin tuli maalaisleipäisyyden tunne myös. On kyllä hyvän makuinen olut. Välillä tuli mieleen et tämä olisi belgityylinen luostari olut. Tää tyyli on aina vaikea, mutta nyt ruvennut enemmän arvostaa tätäkin. PE 6/10/30

Jännittävästi tuli yllättäen vastaan yksi parhaita kotimaisia barrel-aged-suorituksia tähän mennessä. Tuoksussa brett-hiivaa, alkutuntuma hyvin hapokas ja kielellä kihelmöivä. Mausta löytyy ensin karamellia ja rusinaa, vähitellen lämmetessä maku muuttuu paahteisemmaksi ja suklaisemmaksi. Hapokkuus säilyy, eli ei laimene litkuksi.
