A series of beers dedicated to The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan, our first beer is probably my favorite character, Perrin. A blacksmith by trade, bearded, brawny, and thus he got an Oatmeal Stout. The oatmeal will give it a creamy flavor and texture which still having a dryness pleasant in a moderate ABV beer.

With my son-in-law at Back Pew Brewing enjoying some really good beers.
High, frothy tan head with a totally opaque black color. Strong coffee malt aroma. Soft but not as creamy as most oatmeal stouts. Brisk roasted malt. Bittersweet but leaning much more towards the bitter. This reminds me more of a traditional old style porter. Nothing fancy about this, just a good solid oatmeal stout.
