West Coast Triple IPA
We don’t always make triple IPAs but when we do, they are DANK. So imagine our level of stokedness to bring back this ripping West Coast banger that hasn’t been brewed in four and a half years! As such, we swapped some hops in and out to update this to match our current ideals of what makes the best terpene driven clear and bitter beer. Mosaic, Simcoe, Strata and Centennial hops are layered in over and over to create a beer with bright aromas of strawberry daiquiri, Grand Marnier and lemon sorbet, supported by immature ganja bud and redwood forest floor. The 10% alcohol by volume is hidden well behind a high level of clean and crisp bitterness and mouth coating hop oil and sweetness.

Kovin on nätti olut.
Makeahko. Hiukan havuinen, pehmeä ja maukas.
Katkeroita jonkin verran, lopussa kuivattavaa greippiä.
Ei tämä nyt niin dank statement ollut mitä oletin.
Maukas ja kiva kaikin puolin. Alkoholi vähän lurkkii tuossa taustalla. Ilman sitä olisi parempi, nyt on jotenkin raskaan oloinen.
Pikkuisen pienempi abv niin olisi selkeästi parempi.

Backlog.
Kirkkaan kultainen west coast TIPA, jossa saippuainen runsas vaahto.
Mmm.. miellyttävä tuoksu, jossa mosaicin tuomaa marjaisuutta, greippiä, humalan pihkaisuutta, miellyttävää kukkaisuutta ja hieman kypsempää hedelmäisyyttä (persikka ja ananas).
Runkoa löytyy aika reippaasti, mikä ei ehkä ole omiaan west coast ipaan. Pehmeä suutuntu ja sellainen keskiverto hapotus.
Maku jatkaa tuoksusta tuttua linjaa; kypsää hedelmää, kukkaisuutta, jonkin verran pihkaa, greippiä ja hieman karamellimallasta. Katkeroita löytyy hyvin, mutta runkoon nähden saisi olla enemmänkin.
Maut ja tuoksut taattua west coast laatua. Tähän tyyliin vain turhan raskas olut, sillä alkoholikin pilkistelee aavistuksen verran takaata.

I remember watching IG LIVE where headbrewers / owners from Trillium and Cellarmaker had a chat. It was really intresting to listen and from that point I also took Cellarmaker to my ”one day I’ll have a try at their beer” -list.
So yeah. Here I am. Having my first one from Cellarmaker Brewing Co., SF, USA. Established maybe around 2013. Let’s go!

AROMA: Fresh. Floral and it has oddly open feel to it.
HEAD: One finger tall. Leaves nice little veil after it.
GREY’S VIEW
Mosaic, Simcoe, Strata & Centennial hopped West Coast TIPA.
First sip brings a solid punch from the hops. Taste offers danky juiciness, some pine coney vibes, deep feel of wildflowers and bitter taste too. Mouthfeel is tad on the hard side with medium-ish body and lazy carbonation. Aftertaste is slowly drying: with grapefruit peels, sundried flowers and even a hint of alcohol. Mmm-m.
OTHER NOTES:
Surely it is a TIPA. West Coast vibes could be clearer. Nicely slow, drying feel anyway. Decent, decent. It lacks some of that something…some, thing.
