Bought a new laptop that's perfect to Duo beers with my son-in-law. I picked this up in Louisiana on my way to Texas. I've had this Abita before but wanted to share it with him. Small but dark brown head. Chocolate aroma but not milk chocolate more of a liquor fudge. Medium texture, not as heavy as you would expect. Chocolate flavor is wonderful. Definite New Orleans style chocolate cake. Finish turns from cake to an enticing fudge. I like it better this second time around.

Backlog from September 13th (last backlog) Chocolate and cake batter in the aroma. Taste has the same as the aroma, just a little more toned down. Slightly bitter finish. The body is medium-full with a lower amount of carbonation. Not great, but not bad either. High 3.5/5

Limited series from Abita, one of my favorite breweries, a Louisiana treasure. Very sweet aroma. Dark brown opaque in color. Chocolate that has a German chocolate type flavor that has not acquired the coconut icing. Strong, intense flavor that seems stronger than 8%. Creamy, sweet, absolutely delicious. This is what is meant by a pastry stout.
