2 notes
Reserve Rye Bourbon County Brand Stout (2019)
14.5% Imperial Stout
Our Reserve Bourbon County Stout releases showcase how a premium single source bourbon barrel can influence the nuances and flavors of our original BCS. The 2019 Reserve Rye is aged in 100% Rittenhouse Rye barrels - lovingly referred to as "the bartender's favorite" rye. Rittenhouse's Barrels had a unique effect on the original imperial stout, imparting flavors of fruit and spice. Reserve Rye accentuates all that makes Rittenhouse and Bourbon County unique.

Lyhyesti ja ytimekkäästi tynnyriä ja BCBS in Your Face 👊.Perus 2019 / 2020 lisänä rukiisuutta, lisä tynnyriä ja oudosti pientä banaanisuutta. Selvästi iso olut ehkä vuosi lisää ollakseen ehkä täydellistä

I adore rye. It’s so pure, raw and rustic. This beer has been aged in 100% Rye Whiskey Barrels. Let’s see this one through... BEER: Reserve Rye Bourbon County Brand Stout (2019) BREWERY: Goose Island Beer Co. BEER STYLE: Imperial Stout (Rittenhouse Rye BA) COUNTRY: USA ABV.: 14.5% COLOUR (EBC): Cola Black (90.0) BITTERS (EBU/IBU): - AROMA: Rye bready, forestbedy and tad chocolaty. Natural and pure. HEAD: One finger tall. Smooth and tiny bubbled. Lively. GREY’S VIEW Traditional BCBS aged in 100% Rittenhouse Rye Whiskey Barrels. It’s drrrty good! Taste giving lots of darkmalts, dark chocolates, grated truffels, wet forestbed and that cherry on the top; rye. The rye in this one is wetty, deep and soulful. It shows me glibs of the Scottish countryside from the time when iron was a new thing. Aftertaste is mineral, oystery, malty and leafy. This unit has almost medium level of body and it’s forged around mixed bubbles and lively being. It’s bouncy, but firm. Mmm. Maybe even year more of cellaring would have been in place? Who knows? I don’t. OTHER NOTES: Solid and well made Imperial Stout. Rye is pure and agile enough in this one. Maybe a tiny dose of something would have do good to this? Little one sided as this. BOTTLED 8/2019 TASTED 4/2021
