Mardi Gras Bock
6.5% Hellerbock / Maibock
Abita Bock is brewed with pale, pilsner and caramel malts and German Perle hops. Our bock is similar to German maibocks with its rich malt flavor and full body. A perfect choice during Carnival season in New Orleans. Gruyére, Emmental and Swiss are nice cheese choices with Bock. Great with roasted beef or pork. Try it with Mexican food, too.

Alright, first sip was not what I was expecting but as I got into it, the slightly caramel malt base caught my attention. Couple layers going on to make it quite enjoyable.

Thought it was appropriate to drink a Louisiana beer after Alabama's impressive win over LSU. Believed the game would be closer. Not the flavor I was really expecting. Just average for me.

I’m re-rating since I have one & want to rate under the newer rating system. It is mainly malty that has some fig and a hint of a nutty flavor to it. Has some very light grassy hops. Overall tastes a little better than my first review. Maybe I appreciate the style more now. Funny I landed on a 3. New rating system didn’t come into play
