Strong aroma from the glass, sharp and a bit smoky. Nice foam, two fingers. Black in the glass. Sharp roasty notes come immediately followed by dry rosty notes that last a long time. Eventually the after taste mellows, but slowly. Slow beer!

Hanasta. Pehmeä makean paahteinen maku. Miellyttävä aavistuksen suklainen jälkimaku.

Makea ja vähän liian helposti juotava näin kehnoilla toleilla. Suosittelen kyllä.

Murky, very deep dark brown beer with introvert carbonation sets a beige, velvety head that reaches one finger. Retention is fairly long, which can be verified in the form of a neat silky lace ring circling the top as well as a hair-thin haze. The scent is substantially restrained, probably because the beer is tap-cold. I'm getting small injections of raw chocolate and a roasted touch. The olfactory provision doesn't intensify later either although the beer is warmer. The taste profile opens up a palette of nuances to enjoy: massive dark chocolate, bags of cacao nibs, a faint idea of medium-sweet licorice and powerful lactose. I wonder if there is lactose in this beer since it comes through quite boldly. Perhaps a subtle hint of coffee can be detected, as well. The body is more or less full. The finish is identical to upfront. The aftertaste feels cold and wears a fur for a long time. The mouthfeel is full, sticky and a tad roasty. It really glues the lips together. Overall, a quaffable IS.
