Fated Farmer: Chardonnay
7.5% Sour / Wild Ale
Pouring a soft, pale yellow, Fated Farmer: Chardonnay offers a bouquet of gooseberry, peach, guava, and a limestone minerality. On the palate, a mild acid profile is complemented by a touch of sweetness. Easy-drinking and gentle, each sip finishes well-rounded and nuanced.

#summerbeer22 OLUT: Fated Farmer: Chardonnay (2020) PANIMO: Trillium Brewing Co. OLUTTYYPPI: American Wild Ale MAA: Yhdysvallat VAHVUUS (ABV): 7.5% VÄRI (EBC): Kullankeltainen (10.0) KATKEROT (EBU/IBU): - TUOKSU: Runsaan hapan. Vihreä omenainen, rapean mineraalinen, mehukkaan rypäleinen. Aavistus karviaista ja kuivakkaa tammipuuta sekä häiveisesti pähkinää. VAAHTO: Sormen mittainen, tiivis. Vetäytyy nopeasti ja täysin. Kaunis. GREY’S VIEW Chardonnay rypäleillä maustettu American Wild Ale. Mielenkiintoinen alku. Runsaan hapan karviainen ja siihen sekoittuu tuollainen samea omenaisuus. Chardonnay rypäle luo valkoviinimäisen olemuksen jokaiselle oluen osa-alueelle; eloisaa rypälettä, guavaa, persikkaa, oksaisuutta. Kompleksisen kuuloinen, mutta selkeä tuo on. Suutuntu on eloisa; puolipehmeän kuplaisuuden saattelemana medium miinus tasoinen, mineraalisen puhdas, puolikuiva, valkoviinimäinen ja hapan keskitason kestolla. MUUTA MAINITTAVAA: Miellyttävää nautittavaa ja sopiikin tällaiseen kesäiltaan varsin oivallisesti. BOTTLED 2020 TASTED 2022

Ai perkele, Suomi on uusi maailmanmestari 🇫🇮 Lasiin siis vähän parempaa märkää. Trilliumin sourissa vahvasti karviainen, omena, viinimarja, kuivahkous ja maailmanmestaruus mauissa mukana. Olut joka tuntuu kuivahkolta valkoviiniltä. Vahva happamuus toimii myös hyvin. Oluena vahva haastaja kuohuviinille 🍾 Suomi Finland 🇫🇮

Different Fated Farmer series to the test. Pale yellow in color with a sizzling, swift head. On the nose notes of oak, yeast, white wine and grapes. Acidy stuff, dry and and bubbly. Apple, white grapes, gooseberry and yeast. Notes of oak. Better than yesterday's Concord Grape.

Puckering scent. Flavour of funky yeast, bit oak, juicy white wine grapes. Not very sour. Green apples.

Trillium time! Wild time! The beer pours relatively lucid, yellow with a faint green hue. Meager carbonation rushes a fizzy, thin lacing that dies very quickly away. As anticipated, no marks remain on the glass. I could almost write the description of the scent without sensing it at all: it's so obvious that a vinous aroma of dry white wine is to be expected. My nose wants to verify this. Yes. There we go: dry white wine emanates easily to the nostrils. White grape, white gooseberry, green apple and rhubarb land roughly on the olfactory sensors. Somewhere behind the shadows, I can pick also like wet sand. Is it mineral-ness? Does such a word exist? 🤷🏻‍♂️ The taste profile is astringent. Rather strong white grape, bags of raw white gooseberry and lemon pulp are seasoned with a sharp slam of wild yeast. Like brut sparkling wine. Green apple can't be missed either. Lovely! 💚💚💚 The palate is as vinous as I expected and wanted. Rhubarb decides to stay undercover. A mineral twist hangs in the background. The body rates light. The beer finishes with citrusy and grapey punches. Sour apple escorts neatly whereas gooseberry retreats to the night. The aftertaste toasts a flute of sparkling wine with the tastebuds briskly and enjoys the sensation for a while. The mouthfeel is surprisingly light, tart, appealingly vinous and puckering. It's also acidic, astringent, very dry and drying as well as moderately funky. I love the juiciness and fruitiness of this beer; it delivers what it promises.

New beer in Pint Please. Bottled on: ? Temperature: +12 C First Wild Beer from Trillium. I'm so excited! Straw yellow beer with some haziness. Small and fast pure white head: 2,5/5 The aroma is a lovely combination of crisp grape aromas and funky sourness, which resembles a green apple, but not so much as some of the Belgium Wild/Spontaneous beers. The funkiness feels more "American". By that, I mean it's somewhat cleaner. There seems to be a touch of vanilla and just a tiny amount of smokiness as well. Vanilla is from the barrels no doubt. Although the aroma starts nicely it stops too soon, turning into a bit watery even but seems to man up again after the beer warms up some: 3,5/5 The mouthfeel is light with high carbonation and balanced sourness. Some kind of weird sensation strikes at the very end. Hard to describe it... it just feels unpure. Luckily it doesn't bother you that much if you do not concentrate on it: 3,75/5 The taste goes on the same path as the scent with crisp grape flavor and funky sourness, some lemon. Then some oaky flavor, not so much vanilla. Finishes with a tart and dry sensation: 10,5/15 I didn't expect this to be anything close to some of the best Wild Beers I've tasted, and this really isn't. Overall, a very basic beer in that category. But well balanced. I would have hoped for some more flavors from the wild stuff as of now this is mostly sourness/tartness and some apple. A fun beer nevertheless! Probably would be much better with some more age. I usually pour the sediment in from the bottles at some point but today I'm trying to "steal" them and grow them for my own homebrewing purposes: 14/520 =34,25/50
