Citra Dry Hopped True New Englander
8.1% Imperial IPA / Double IPA
Genuine New Englanders are the type of people who are brave enough to take on a long, snowy shoveling session and lighthearted enough to crack a beer in their lawn chair afterward. Our annual Sabro-hopped Double IPA is brewed for those True Englanders. For the second time, we've added a complimentary hop varietal to the dry-hop. Citra takes the stage this year, contributing a welcomed complexity to Sabro's distinctive piña colada character.

GREY’S VIEW
Citra dry hopped & Sabro hopped DIPA.
Fascinating first bite. First wave brings dried lemon peel, grapefruit peel and some feel of freshly cut summer herbs. Then comes the next wave with tart, slightly dry bready and more fruity and woodsy feel along. Hops works so hard on this one. They don’t try to overcome each one, they more like dance with each other, completing each ones ways. Lovely. Mouthfeel is really creamy and filling. Body reaching to be full. Dry hopping is almost too much (once again), but nah, it stays nice and calm, just a little snip and snap here and there. Aftertaste has slight feel of grass, sweeter side of summery herbs and some amount of tongue drying dry hopping.
OTHER NOTES:
I remember having Galaxy dry hopped version of this around year ago. It was amazing then. This is lovely, although not that amazing. Good and solid, although not incredible. Hmm. Then again this grows into you so slowly and nicely that it’s hard not to praise this.
